Mobile development
for GSM network

Offering value-added services based on the location of people or goods. We develop, implement and facilitate location-based services for our clients as a service enabler.

About us

SMARTposition’s roots are in the Bata Positioning System, in which we experimented with advanced track & tracing applications as far back as 2002.We offer value-added services based on the location of people or goods. This type of services is known as  location-based services .

We develop, implement and exploit several location-based services ourselves. Additionally, we develop and facilitate location-based services for our clients as a service enabler. We execute software development for large projects together with professional engineers available from within the holding, allowing us to utilize one or more teams depending on the size of the project.

Our focus

We create mobile apps that allow GSM operators to provide services for their customers, for example to manage their account, view their balance, check data usage, and top-up their accounts. Also it can be an app that provides users with self-care tools, such as data usage management, balance transfer, and content services management.

GSM-enabled mobile apps can be developed and used to engage with customers, provide them with personalized experiences, and drive sales. Mobile apps can also be used to collect data on customer behavior and preferences, providing insights that can be used to improve marketing strategies.

The location-based services SMARTposition offers itself focus on the following sectors:

  • Sports: track the progress of a sporting event live, through our tracking system. We also offer services for the analysis and visualization of data.
  • Safety: services for healthcare, family and security.

In addition to these existing services, we put a lot of time and effort into the creation and development of new concepts. On the best of these concepts, we follow through ourselves, with partners or for customers.

To our customers, we offer a complete package to enable location-based services. All our location-based (web)services fit together seamlessly and can be used in any configuration depending on your requirements. To allow for this, we use our own platform which combines components for positioning, supporting services, infrastructure, visualization and integration. This platform is the basis of the LBS we develop.

The platform offers the location-based services capabilities

The platform offers the location-based services capabilities to mobile network operators based on GSM standards.

The mobile network is used by the default to determine the position of the user. LBSP provides a simple API that can be used by external applications to provide location-based services.

The architecture of the LBS Platform enables the fast product developments, eg. crowd control, personnel management, games, advertising, etc.

Processing (business logic) is the central hub of the Back-end core.

    Cases

    Sports

    Tracking and monitoring athlete performance

Devices such as GPS trackers or smartwatches can be used to collect data on an athlete’s speed, distance covered, heart rate, and other metrics.

    Managing sports events

Event organisers can use GPS trackers to monitor the progress of participants and provide real-time updates on their position and time.

    Engaging sports spectators

GSM technology can enhance the experience of sports spectators by providing real-time updates on events and competitions.

Ensuring athlete and spectator safety and security

Emergency services can use GPS tracking to quickly locate and respond to injured athletes or spectators. Additionally, security personnel can use GSM-enabled surveillance cameras to monitor events and identify potential security threats.

    Safety

    GPS tracking devices

GSM-enabled GPS tracking devices can be attached to the clothing or accessories of kids or elderly people to track their movements and location in real-time. This can provide peace of mind for caregivers and ensure that the individual is safe and accounted for.

    Panic buttons

GSM-enabled panic buttons can be carried by kids or elderly people, which when activated can immediately send an alert to caregivers or emergency services. This can be useful in case of emergencies or when the individual feels threatened or unsafe.

    Remote monitoring

Caregivers can remotely monitor the safety of kids or elderly people using GSM-enabled cameras and sensors. This can alert caregivers to any potential safety hazards or issues, such as falls or accidents.

    Tracking

    GPS tracking

GSM-enabled GPS tracking devices can be used to track the location of people or objects in real-time. These devices can be attached to vehicles, equipment, or even individuals, providing accurate and up-to-date location data and helping to optimise the routes.

    Asset tracking

GSM-enabled sensors and cameras can be used to remotely monitor assets, such as machinery or equipment. This can help in identifying potential issues early, reducing downtime, and improving maintenance efficiency.

    Fleet tracking

GSM-enabled GPS tracking devices can be used to track the location and movements of fleets of vehicles, such as trucks or delivery vans. This can help in optimizing routing and scheduling, reducing fuel consumption, and improving operational efficiency.
